No, no. Not another Slackers interview from Ska Blah Blah, but this two part show is so great that I have to direct your attention to it. Don’t let the non-English website and show introduction fool you, the interview is conducted in English and is chock full of wonderfully selected Slackers and Specials music. I don’t want this site to be one of those blogs that posts a lot of zShare and RapidShare content, however, I love bootlegs and live recordings. Since the kids over at punktorrents.com didn’t seem too interested in my offering of this great live set, I thought maybe my loyal readers would be.
This was recorded (not by me) live at the KROQ Weenie Roast ’07 and features Tim and the Aggrolites performing a lot of songs from A Poets Life. Plus, for the last two songs, Lars Fredrickson joins the group for some old fashioned Rancid tunes. The recording itself is better than average, with only a little bit of noise and glitch- if I had to grade it, I’d give it a B.

My last post pointed you to an upcoming Rocksteady documentary, but that is far from the only interesting documentary coming down the pike. Here’s three other projects with accompanying trailers:
Legends of Ska: The Movie
This one looks to be a similar idea as the Rocksteady doc- get all the heavy hitters from around the world, film a concert, record some music, and shoot some interviews.

It’s way early in development but The Jamaican Gleaner reports a reunion of Rocksteady legends. The event will result in a new record and the participators will be the subject of a feature length documentary. The producer is optimistic about the films chances stating, “that it would not be a straight-to-DVD film, but a blockbuster.”
From the Gleaner:
According to Boulos [line producer], the project is two years in the making. The musicians who are flying in for the film, record and concert are singer, Dawn Penn, arranger and band leader Lynn Taitt, and singer, Hopeton Lewis. They will be joined on stage and in the recording studio at Tuff Gong by the legendary performers who still live in Jamaica, including Ken Boothe, Judy Mowatt, Strangejah Cole, Derrick Morgan, Leroy Sibbles, Marcia Griffiths, Scully Simms, The Tamlins and U-Roy.
Also in the film are musicians Gladdy Anderson, Hux Brown, Sly Dunbar, Lloyd Parkes, Jackie Jackson, Headley Bennett, Glen DaCosta, Vin Gordon, David Madden and Bongo Herman.

This might be the first time I’ve ever written about a dildo, but with a name like Rude Boy Stimulator, I just couldn’t resist. As of yet, there isn’t a model available in checker board- so I assume the name of this prostate buzzer is merely coincidental. Link
Speaking of co-opting our vocabulary to sell sex, any google search for ‘ska teens’ brings up another sex site that has nothing to do with Ska Music, what-so-ever. Definitely NSFW, and is just porno so I won’t be linking to it.
